And the Greatest of these is Love

Last September I became engaged to my best friend and the love of my life. Shortly after, I put a halt on writing posts and put all my time and energy into wedding planning. Now, I fully believe in pregnancy brain when you're pregnant, because I was totally experiencing the whole engagement/wedding brain for eight months. And it stinks. You're brain literally turns to mush and you can't remember a dang thing and everyone gets ill with you because you forget everything that you say you would do for them because all of your focus is on wedding planning. Ugh. To answer any questions that you may have we did in fact get married, no one was harmed in the planning process and we all still love each other. And all God's people said, "Amen!" With today marking sixty days to the date of being married, I thought it was the perfect time to share some photos from our special day.

A little background story of us - This September 30th will mark our eighth anniversary as a couple. Anthony and I began dating shortly after he turned 17, I had just turned 18 (our birthdays are one week apart). We had been friends during school but never had we dated. He had just started his senior year in high school and I had just started my freshman year at the community college in our hometown when we decided to give the whole dating thing a try. We both agree till this day we never thought our relationship would ever have worked out the way it did. Once he graduated from high school he attended the same community college but I was leaving for Auburn. We had a distant relationship for two years. It was surprising when he finished at the community college that he transferred to Auburn - he was an Alabama fan! At first, it was weird. I'm not going to lie. But, once we got used to seeing each other everyday again, it felt like we were back in high school. We even took a class together which was pretty fun. A year and half went by, I graduated and had a job offer in Birmingham, but he was still in school. A part of me wanted to stay but a part of me knew there was no way I could. I have always gone by the saying "everything will work out, if it's meant to be" and as hard as it was to move, I took the job and we became distant once again. This time it was only for a year. Once he graduated at Auburn, he moved to Birmingham and entered into school again. We have been here ever since. Now, do we have a story to tell our kids? I think the most hilarious thing about it all is when I was younger I remember my mother telling me about my parent's relationship and how long they dated before they got married; I thought that was awfully long. I remember telling her that "I would never date someone that long before marrying them, yadda, yadda and so forth" we'll I'm sure ya'll are wondering...Not only did Anthony and I date as long as my parents - but longer! Hilarious, I know. But, after all the ups and downs and the distance in between, everything was well worth it in the end. On May 30, 2015 at half past 5 in the afternoon, I married my best friend and that made me the happiest girl in the world.

Here is a little sneak peek into our special day...I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed making the memories!

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

The best is yet to be. . .
