DVF: a Fashion Icon

It's been one heck of a year for fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg - the designer is celebrating the 40th year of her iconic wrap dress and just last week she was awarded the Fashion Group International's Superstar Award - but her year from shining is far from over. On Tuesday, October 28 she released two books: her memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, and Journey of a Dress, a retrospective of the iconic style, and on Sunday, November 2, her highly anticipated reality-show, House of DVF, airs on E! For someone like me who has looked up to her, who has always loved fashion, even so much so that I chose it for my career path . . . I could not be more excited to catch a glimpse inside of Diane's fashion empire - even if it is while I'm chilling on my couch in my yoga pants. So ladies, make plans to watch this Sunday on E! In the meantime, take a cue from these stylish and fall-focused pieces from DVF's latest collection below - once you're good and feeling inspired head over here to shop her collection. Enjoy!

Who doesn't love an over-sized sweater for Fall? This boxy silhouette is on my list of must-haves. Whether you pair it with a skirt or skinny jeans, you're sure to turn a few heads.

Head-to-toe perfection. The jeweled-tone print is to die for, not to mention I love how the top wraps just enough to show off your figure while the skirt slowly flares off into an a-line silhouette. So feminine, just love.

Keeping it fun and playful with this cross-body bag, but still maximizing the impact of the jewel-tone trend for fall.

A comfortable yet chic wrap dress can effortlessly transition you from work to after-hours, and the exotic cheetah print adds the perfect touch.

If you're looking for that fashionable yet versatile dress, here you go! Put a casual daytime twist on this patterned dress with a sweater/jacket tied loosely at the waist along with a pair of chucks or dress it up for date night with a stunning pair of heels - you're options are endless.

This summer-to-fall dress is adorable in every way. Throw on a pair of boots and you're set!

The iconic wrap-dress gets glamorous with a metallic sheen. This dress is practically begging for a party to go to!

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Just like Wilson is the official ball to the NFL, anything Pumpkin - whether it be food or scents - is the official smell for Fall. Now, I know October is coming to an end but hey, we still have November and that's the time I really enjoy it the most. Something about that particular scent reminds me of Thanksgiving and with that comes many great memories of family and food - which is the main reason of why I love this particular scent as much as I do. I know I'm not the only out there who is a tad bit obsessed so here's a list of pumpkin things that all of you pumpkin lovers will love! Check'em out and enjoy!

Wedding Inspirations

Weddings have always intrigued me. Now whether my interest comes from fairy tales that have always filled my mind or the way bridal gowns perfectly flow in every picture I come across or even from my bridal Barbie and Ken days...I can't quite put my finger on it. But, whatever it is, it's magical. I have everything from paper stacks of my "dream" dresses tucked away so that no one can discover them to ripped out pages of exquisite flower arrangements in notebooks arranged by color - so I guess you could say I love weddings.

Since becoming engaged wedding planning has become a daily thing for me - and all my late night pinnings from Pinterest are looking like they may actually be worth it in the end after all, thank goodness. The one thing I have enjoyed most is pulling out all of the inspirations I have collected over the years and figuring out how to combine them all to create the perfect fit for me and my groom! Here are just some of my favorites that I have come across over the last several weeks . . . enjoy!

Baby On My Mind

Due to hostessing a baby shower for a childhood friend this past weekend and welcoming a new bundle of joy into my boyfriend's sweet family - they're practically like my own so we'll just go with it - just three days ago, it inspired me to gather up my favorite baby nurseries to share. I personally adore nurseries - everything from the paint color down to the tiny toys you perfectly place just to add that finishing touch. I hope these beautiful pictures inspire you just as much they do me. Enjoy!

soft neutrals
This gorgeous nursery in neutral tones has the perfect mix of vintage, rustic, and classic pieces. This soft nursery has won my heart.

fun & colorful
A bold palette of teal, pink, and gold with graphic punches of black and white make this room unforgettableDefinitely a fun and vibrant space for a sweet girl to call home.

sophisticated & modern
For this little girl's space they skipped soft pastels and the typical baby concept and instead designed a sophisticated, modern space with a touch of whimsy.

clean & girly
This sweet ruffled-filled nursery is everything a little girl's nursery should be. Filled with clean lines and girly details - the whole space is light and airy in the softest gray, pink, and white palette.

bold & mod
It's fun to see nurseries that are unique and interesting that don't scream "baby room", and this space is a great example.

light & dreamy
Planning a gender neutral nursery is not a easy task - I would imagine. This super soft, light palette is so sweet and soothing, perfect for a boy or a girl.

bright & calm
A palette of white, blue, and cream make the room feel so clean, fresh, and soothing, while unique handmade pieces add a personal touch.

safari dream
The story behind this particular nursery will make you love it even more...The parents had decided to keep the gender of their baby a surprise, but they wanted to make sure the nursery was ready when the baby arrived. Rather than opt for a gender neutral nursery, their dear friend & designer offered to design the room in secret, and only she knew what the gender would be. When they saw the room for the first time it was the day they took their baby girl home from the hospital!
Is this not the cutest thing? love.

pink & feminine
Three words to sum up this sweet nursery would be perfectly pink, feminine, and sophisticated. I love the old soul feel throughout this space.

classic & clean
If you're not one for cartoon characters or matchy-matchy rooms then this room is for you. This beautiful space is perfect for a little boy - filled with classic style and vintage details.
