DVF: a Fashion Icon

It's been one heck of a year for fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg - the designer is celebrating the 40th year of her iconic wrap dress and just last week she was awarded the Fashion Group International's Superstar Award - but her year from shining is far from over. On Tuesday, October 28 she released two books: her memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, and Journey of a Dress, a retrospective of the iconic style, and on Sunday, November 2, her highly anticipated reality-show, House of DVF, airs on E! For someone like me who has looked up to her, who has always loved fashion, even so much so that I chose it for my career path . . . I could not be more excited to catch a glimpse inside of Diane's fashion empire - even if it is while I'm chilling on my couch in my yoga pants. So ladies, make plans to watch this Sunday on E! Wedding Inspirations

Weddings have always intrigued me. Now whether my interest comes from fairy tales that have always filled my mind or the way bridal gowns perfectly flow in every picture I come across or even from my bridal Barbie and Ken days...I can't quite put my finger on it. But, whatever it is, it's magical. I have everything from paper stacks of my "dream" dresses tucked away so that no one can discover them to ripped out pages of exquisite flower arrangements in notebooks arranged by color - so I guess you could say I love weddings. 

Since becoming engaged wedding planning has become a daily thing for me - and all my late night pinnings from Pinterest are looking like they may actually be worth it in the end after all, thank goodness. The one thing I have enjoyed most is pulling out all of the inspirations I have collected over the years and figuring out how to combine them all to create the perfect fit for me and my groom! Here are just some of my favorites that I have come across over the last several weeks . . . enjoy!

Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

It's been two months too long since my last post and my how things have changed, well for me anyway - here is just a glimpse of what's been going on in this crazy world. 

1. After spending seven great years together, I am officially engaged to the love of my life and my best friend - how's that for some news? 
2. Blake Lively is expecting. 
3. Kate Middleton is expecting (again).
4. Carrie Underwood is expecting.
5. Football has started up and us Southerners couldn't be happier. War Eagle.
6. It's officially Fall - well according to abc, nbc, yadda yadda - my shows are back on television. Hallelujah!
7. Gwen Stefani is on The Voice...so is Pharrel, but Gwen Stefani is on The Voice.
8. We're five weeks away from Thanksgiving. Black Friday shoppers get your lists together!
9. We're nine weeks away from Christmas - omg.
